SS420 Display Measurement System
Applications:
Photopic Analysis: ISO-Luminance vs. Viewing Angle, Luminance Uniformity, Contrast Ratio Plots, Gamma Plots, Backlight Characterization, Reflectance Measurements. Standard Features: Spectrometer
Colorimetric Analysis: Chromaticity vs. Viewing Angle, Color Uniformity, Correlated Color Temperature, Color Gamut, CIE Chromaticity Plots. Automated Test Suites: ISO 9241-3xx, ISO 13406-2 Flat Panel Specification, TCO-03,05,06, VESA FPDM Basic Suite of Measurements.
System Overview: Accurate measurements of luminance and chromaticity are made utilizing a diffraction grating spectrometer, eliminating the need for color filters and the problems associated with filter matching. A single fiber optic cable mates the collimating optics with the spectrometer. A mechanical positioner allows movement of the detector to any location on the panel under test while a goniometric assembly provides the ability to make off-axis measurements. In the typical operating mode, the positioning system moves the optics of the spectrometer to a desired measurement location on a vertically positioned flat panel. (As shown below) The patterns and color of the display panel (UUT) are driven from a supplied pattern generator which provides both Analog and/or Digital signals or from an RS232 interface which provides a communication link with the drive electronics (laptop). A single click of the mouse initiates a variety of preprogrammed tests suites that generate reports of the measurement data. The system is also offered in a mode allowing measurements of panels in the horizontal position. Click Image for Larger View
